Summer 2016

It will be a busy summer for NSEC this year!

We will be participating in the North Shore Canada Day Parade for the first time with super star pony Dino! Come watch us on Friday, July 1st! The parade route stretches from Grand Blvd and 10th st all the way to Mahon Park.

Horse Day at the PNE is on Saturday, Aug 27th. Stop by our booth and say hi :)

NSEC 30th Anniversary BBQ will be held on Sunday, Aug 28th. We will be doing Hunter/Jumper and Dressage Demos, pony rides for kids 4 yrs old and up, a BBQ and much more. We are looking for volunteers to help us throw a great party. We are also looking for face painters who might be willing to donate some of their time and skills. Contact Allanda at for more details.

Be Careful on the Trails

Rider Alert!

When going out on trails be careful if using the smaller trails around Lynn Creek and Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve.

Unsanctioned mountain bike trails have been built around these areas and the people building them have been leaving large "burrow pits" around the trails that could cause injury to your horse if accidentally stepped in.

"Burrow pit"

These have mainly been popping up in and around the smaller hiking trails and as such could be quite covered and may not be seen by riders until their horse is about to step into them.

Please be careful on the trails and stay safe!

North Shore Canada Day Parade

This year NSEC will be participating in the North Shore Canada Day Parade on Friday, July 1st with our little shining star Dino!

Allanda is looking for 5 or 6 students to join her and Dino in the parade and show off your NSEC pride by marching with us, handing out pins and info and helping us with clean up.

If you are interested in helping out, please email Allanda at
